In Their Own Story

The air in the Kiln was thick with ash that had fallen from a thousand years of burning. Before the great fire, the Lordvessel sat upon its pedestal, no longer whole but glowing with a fractured, dying light. The Chosen Undead stood before it, their armor heavy with the weight of stolen souls and forgotten memories. With trembling hands, they reached out to touch the cold stone, feeling the pulse of Gwyn's last desperate hope within it. In that silence, the choice hung in the balance: to become a kindling for a world that refused to end, or to let the darkness finally claim its due.

Reader's Guide

The Lordvessel is essential for progressing through the final stages of the game and determining the ending. To acquire it, players must first defeat four major bosses: Ornstein and Smough in Anor Londo, the Four Kings in the Abyss, Seath the Scaleless in the Lost Izalith, and the Witch of Izalith's children. Once these souls are collected, they can be fused into the Lordvessel at the Firelink Shrine. This act unlocks the path to Sen's Fortress and eventually leads to the Kiln of the First Flame. The vessel acts as a repository for the power needed to challenge Gwyn or his champions.
